How do you calculate a salary increase? Multiply your current salary by (1 + increase % ÷ 100). A 5.5% increase on ₱30,000 a month is ₱1,650, for a new salary of ₱31,650 a month. To find the percentage, subtract old pay from new pay, divide by old pay and multiply by 100.
How to calculate a salary increase
Salary increase % = (New salary − Old salary) ÷ Old salary × 100
New salary = Old salary × (1 + Salary increase % ÷ 100)
Worked example
Your monthly salary is ₱30,000 and you get a 5.5% salary increase. Multiply ₱30,000 by 1.055: your new monthly salary is ₱31,650, which is ₱1,650 more a month.
Going the other way, a monthly salary that rises from ₱25,000 to ₱26,250 is a 5% salary increase: (₱26,250 − ₱25,000) ÷ ₱25,000 × 100.
